Question:
With "Blockbuster" stocks,, IE ones.. say.. $75 or over.. how is the best way to handle things after the IPO?
Not to post my "Trading secrets" here, lol.. but.. what I usually do..is to start with a 10,000 share intiial buy, and if I see that go up, I'll buy 10 , 000 to 15,000 more shares.
Many times, I'll see a price crash soon after a stock shoots up after its IPO. Is this because many people buy shares at the IPO, and then sell them quickly afterwards.. to get quick profits? Also, what is really the best way to do it.. My strategy, especiallly with the blockbuster movie stocks is to hang on to them for months.. or years, and not sell until the movie opens. (Not counting the big mistake I made with the recent Hunger Games movie where I sold too soon) I wont be doing that again.
Anyhow, so just wondering about whether people sell soon after the IPO when the stock shoots up a couple of dollars, or hang on to it long term.
