Mitch,
Something to consider. Financial success in Moviestocks is based on the skill and accuracy of prediction, while starbonds are based on the skill of calculation. HSX is primarily a prediction game as prediction is where HSX monetizes it's value. Players that have more financial resources are able to make more predictions, which is (again) the basis of HSX. So, as your port grows hopefully so is your skill at prediction.
Players who are unskilled at prediction only improve their ability through practice, thus, players start with a very finite amount of recources (H$2M) so they affect the market (or influence predictions) less than players who develop more resources, with hopefully better prediction skills.
It doesn't make sense to reward players who have underdeveloped or poor prediction skills with more money, and therefore more influence on the market as a whole. Since Starbonds do not require much prediction skill, it is only logical that their ability to generate financial resources for each player is throttled. And of course, inflation must also be taken into consideration... because each H$ we make doesn't come from someone else's loss.
It's a delicate balance, and I'm sure fighting inflation at HSX is no small job. Thus, we are starting to see higher priced IPO's (the recent Avengers IPO for example). All these factors in play are what make HSX fascinating.
Best of luck growing your port!
