This is a good question that I've considered for a while. My best answer is both. While it can be frustrating early on...
...as Qix mentioned, that gives me the chance to play with a different strategy. And, more importantly, I'd say that my favorite part of the fund cycle is that first major "win" you get when you only have the 20M seed money. But, then it is nice to have 50m+ to mess around with too since it is always a bummer to have to pass up on good positions early due to lack of cash.
I've also enjoyed the opportunity to test my mettle with a small port which you can't really do unless you reset your main or do a YTD. It's so different than trading as a billionaire and provides different strats that rich folks may not remember if they;ve been playing (and been rich) for a long, long time.
