i can give you 2 possibilities...
1. raimi hasnt directed since 2013, so he is a candidate to be 'delisted', meaning his stock would end. hsx likes to get rid of people who arent active, although directors usually get several years before they go away. So...players may be buying long, in anticipation of this, becuase at delist, raimis price would be adjusted to his TAG, so at current price, IF raimi was delisted say today, any player holding long would make a profit.
or
2. Players were holding him short for a long time, in the expectation that if raimi did do a new film, it would replace Spidermans $250M in his tag, and wouldnt be as big, so his TAG might drop. But, since raimi has been so inactive, they are getting rid of their shorts to free that money up for something else. Covering a short makes price go up
