It is, if you have some idea as to 'when' HSX will delist them...which they never announce those dates....
If your port is big enough to short those movies, then you can give it a shot...but if you have a smaller port, I'd advise against it. Why? Cause you tie up $$ you could be using to invest in other things that could make you MORE $$ in the meantime...
Many times, movies may 'linger' in developement hell for years... and go nowhere... then for some reason a studio may pick up the rights to it, and start anew on the project - in which case you may see a stock drop in price for a long time, and then once people realize it's coming back - start to buy it again, causing the price to go back up. Of course, if this happens, you could always sell it off & re-buy it (if you had it short) but there is just NO way to know.
There have been times that HSX has delisted a stock, only to find out a few years later, it's coming back, and so they re-IPO it then.
It's kind of a gamble if you short too early, but if you have the funds, and don't mind tying them up...then you may want to give it a shot....
