If you Short a Release Date Put & its successful (ie opens earlier) what's the formula for payout?

Is it same as successful Call - no. of days * no of shares (ergo fixed amt for finite no of shares) ? or is it (the price at which invested - zero)* no of shares (not countning invested principle ie basically double the total amount invested)?

Put Buy calculation is clear for this type of security, Put Short is not.
