I know I'm fresh meat here in the community and a lot of the players in the forum are 10 yrs long vets, but I can't feel but think the following:

Don't you think this might be a good opportunity to re-fall for the game? I mean, I understand that the changes must have had a great impact on trading strategy (I don't know, I only played the old rules for less than a month) but you could try and see that as a way of "starting over" your strategy but with loads of cash!

I don't mean to disrespect any of the old timers as you have all been very helpfull to me and other starters (btw, this is one of the most pleasent and polite communities of the online gaming world), I'm just expressing an opinion.
