I was at Comic-Con and saw the footage there . . .
You are totally right - how the characters move on screen is usually a tell-tell sign of how good the animation is. The footage I saw at Comic-Con was so amazing, including the character movement, that my jaw was on the floor. I am not exaggerating when I say that this movie will change how films are made more than The Wizard of Oz and Star Wars combined.
The film uses 3D in an immersive way that is just unlike anything I've seen before. It isn't gimmicky at all. You feel like the insects in the forest of Pandora are buzzing in the periphery of your vision, even that you are breathing the same air as the characters. I simply CANNOT wait until this movie comes out, as it is sure to amaze audiences for years to come. This film is every bit the game-changer that people have said.
