Brief TFRM3 theater report and review (no spoils)
Went to a sold out (eventually) IMAX 3D show at 9pm. A couple of guys were wearing Bumblebee masks, which was cool. Otherwise just the standard midnight crowd - excited but not absurd.
Trailers for Puss in Boots and Tintin. Puss got a little reaction, nothing for Tintin.
Movie was somewhere around B- or C+ for me. It's a little better than TFRM2 in that it avoids the truly awful stretches, but it can't capture the magic of the first one... maybe because it's the same stuff for a third straight movie. Also, obvious Shia LaBoeuf stunt double is obvious. And there was a very big ripoff of the Inception score, which may or may not be authorized. Crowd seemed to like it more than I did, so I doubt word of mouth will be that bad.
