What was your part/role in 'Starship Troopers', RH? (BTW, I have the Roughnecks DVDs.)
I think Verhoeven had his head up his behind with the "Facist satire" bit, especially since in interviews I remember him giving at the time he stated his intent was to show that ALL use of any military force was evil, including the military force that freed his own country from Nazi occupation. I think in the process of this the movie completely missed the point of the book about growing up and taking personal responsibility (though I'll admit Heinlein's society was a bit over the top the other way). He also made the soldiers complete idiots.
Plus how the bleep can you have a Starship Troopers movie WITHOUT power armor?!?!
