"Ali" did $14 million opening weekend, and I'd argue he had a much more mainstream following than Jackie Robinson ever did. Maybe it's the civil rights angle in general that you think will make it have the best opening weekend of any baseball movie ever? I'm just not seeing it.

I shorted "42" when it hit $53...and I'll cover when / if it sinks past $45, which is still a respectable opening weekend for any baseball movie.

Hard to see how 42 gets past $20M dirtyname Apr 09, 06:17

If it were just a baseball movie, yes. But the African-American market, civil rights issue, and iconic nature of Robinson will help. {nm} KalElFan Apr 09, 07:18
