Because HSX looks at the numbers of limited's that expand wide. The average four weekend takes of that type of release is "(3.0* WE)+prev.

Movies like that generally have much better word of mouth (Slumdog) and better legs than typical wide released flicks.

Anyone notice ERC's early estimate of 10m for Precious...that's over $16000 per its 629 theaters. And the box office ever expands. =) Catzan Nov 21, 10:05

IF it ever expands, can you explain to me the reasoning why limited to wide expansions get s 3.0x plus previous adjust? {nm} adrenalin112 Nov 21, 10:19

In holdover sites it is dropping fairly fast however. {nm} notfabio Nov 21, 11:07

But it will go wide, right? I mean, it is 21 theaters away from HSX wide now as it is. {nm} Catzan Nov 21, 12:56

Not many days ago, D.Mac said he last heard it would expand to 1000-1200 theaters on 25/11 (link) Facto Nov 21, 14:18

I was being vaguely rhetorical but wondering if there was new info post-D.Mac since Dbsman noted he perused showtimes for Wed & saw no adds. {nm} Catzan Nov 21, 14:34
