even starting w/ 2mil, you have to control your timing. I would use 250k to watch other stocks (1 to 100 shares) so I can see movement trends. Opening week I'm all in w/ 1.8mil to say avengers, riding that to opening weekend Sunday, I'm out with generally a good bump then I'm back in with same cash short the stock with the caveat of only reinvesting the 1.8mil. Any profit---hypothetical 1 mil, I take off the table circulate into say missin omp 5 and repeat. It's not a lot of cash that makes money, its the velocity of money. How fast in and out I your money moving to avoid inevitable swings and do you immediately skim profits off so that you're only risking that initial 1.8 over and over while siphoning and reinvesting profits?
