PACRM had GRWN2, MMAX4 had PITC2, I guess IDAY2 had SHALW. But you know what's over-rated as a box office factor? Competition.
PACRM wasn't competing for the same audience as GRWN2, same for MMAX4 and PITC2.
Movie studios select release dates to minimise competition for audiences, and also for marketing attention and theatres/screens (eg two big movies open the same weekend - which gets the IMAX screen?) So most weekends have little actual competition for the same audience.
And also, if audiences like a movie it does well despite competition, and if a movie performs poorly, it's because it doesn't connect with audiences, not because there is too much competition. MMAX4 and PITC2 both did well (PITC2 better than well, MMAX4 was fine). WICK2, LBATM and 50SH2 all did $30+M on the same weekend. Movies like IDAY2 and NFERN and DVRG3 flopped all on its own
