Hdd2 sucked, just saw it

Posted by: bigfathead on Feb 15, 13:47 in response to Kevman66's post Part of Alita was $20 from me, because I bought tickets...

Hdd2 did not capture any of the good parts of the first. Not trilling or funny or interesting. Trying to make it so complex with time demesions was a dumb story line. I had higher hopes. Yes the hangover 2 was just like the first one in a different location. Hdd was a movie with a pretty concussive ending, no need for sequels. Hangover sequels were pretty easy to churn out. Continuing hhd is not.Ā

DL Thurs: ALITA 8.7 (incl 2.4 previews) | ISROM 4.4 | HDTH2 2.7 warcraft86 Feb 15, 08:55

What went wrong with HDTH2? Too much competition, a sequel nobody asked for, lackluster marketing, or all of the above? {nm} RollingThunder Feb 15, 09:00

It's a rehash of the first film literally. {nm} Antibody Feb 15, 09:02

So was The Hangover Part II and that didn't stop the movie from being a hit too. FabioParme Feb 15, 09:08

How is Thailand literally the same as Vegas? {nm} Antibody Feb 15, 09:16

its not a horror film but its pulling the horror aud as they expected the same dynamic as the first one but theyre getting weird science Moviesnob Feb 15, 09:19

Well, the marketing/trailers show they are literally reliving the same day from the first film. {nm} Antibody Feb 15, 09:20

that true, but its not the slasher film the first one was. Hence the bad exit polling and bad WOM {nm} Moviesnob Feb 15, 09:23

Doug is missing for the entire movie, exotic animal thrown in the mix, Ed Helms rewrites a song with plot specific lyrics, Ed Helms has bennyg1985 Feb 15, 09:21

It happens a year later in a differnt country, not literally. {nm} Antibody Feb 15, 09:24

So, if part two happened, let's say, in NY, you would then say it's the same movie? FabioParme Feb 15, 09:26

No, literally is used to mean same time and same location. {nm} Antibody Feb 15, 09:27

But you have to agree that Hangover I and II are exactly the same movie. That is my point. FabioParme Feb 15, 09:29

My Point is I qualified my statement with "literally" which you keep ignoring. {nm} Antibody Feb 15, 09:31

Well, HDD2 is also not literally a rehash of the first film, so you are also using it incorrectly. {nm} austpow Feb 15, 10:11

The sequel went back to the same time and place as the first film, I think that qualifies as a literal rehash. {nm} Antibody Feb 15, 11:35

You havent it seen it yet. HDD2 is "literally" a different time and a different space (think quantum physics) {nm} Moviesnob Feb 15, 11:43

C'mon! They only changed location. The rest of the movie is exactly the same. FabioParme Feb 15, 09:24

I agree Part II a reahsh of the first Hangover, but it's not a "literal" rehash. :) {nm} Antibody Feb 15, 09:30

I'll give you that. End of discussion :) {nm} FabioParme Feb 15, 09:34

The marketing/trailers show Thailand so moviegoers were EXPECTING a differnt movie. {nm} Antibody Feb 15, 09:33

This is a lot of text spent for a movie that everyone about this line is trashing {nm} Wilderness_Journey Feb 15, 10:08

are you new here? {nm} professor zovek Feb 15, 10:54

Lol. You wish. {nm} Wilderness_Journey Feb 15, 11:08

Part of Alita was $20 from me, because I bought tickets for the wrong day :/ {nm} Kevman66 Feb 15, 11:07
