I can understand your sentiments, and certainly agree in the short term but...
...in the same way people spoke out in favour of Cantor Exchange far too late to make a difference, my motivation in bringing this up is looking past the sentimentality before the opportunity to save the site in the long term is lost.
I have witnessed many similiar (fundamentally well supported and strong) businesses go under gone under because of a refusal to confront key issues earlier enough. The sooner enough people say, 'a few bucks a month to keep HSX going is worth it', the sooner someone comes in and gives DMAC the long term resources to keep doing what he is doing.
