I just saw FLOW for a second time (thanks for the recommendation, Moviesnob!) and I think it's the best animated movie in YEARS!
I can see even popular animated movies of the year like Inside Out 2 and The Wild Robot not appealing to a number of different demos but being wordless and involving animals, I can see 1 year olds watching it and loving it as well as even dementia-stricken older folks watching it and loving it. It's such simple storytelling but also so brilliantly layered, exactly the type of movie that can unite people of all genders, races, religions, ages, and yes... politics. I hope Sideshow is able to give it a hearty release with some marketing, because despite being Latvian in origin, it's just as good as any other movie out there this year... and that includes Anora.
