On adjust date, BONDS constantly is asking these questions about adjusting bonds.
For certain, most players will dump their positions unless there is a strong reason to keep the bond. This has a tendancy to force long positions down, and force short positions up. In addition, a lot of players, knowing this will reverse their positions as well, forcing the prices even further in these opposite directions.
I usually refer to this as the "bounce." In the case of DWASH, the bounce is still happening (I think) and I have not sold off that position in the fund. Sometimes you have to get out fast.
In other cases, where there is another adjust in the very near future, the bounce does not happen. All of this is "playing the players" for short term gains. If you have a very large portfolio, you probably do not need this advice. If you have a smaller portfolio, then with limited resources, you have to look at short term action. Droi, daily rate of increase, is important. This kind of data is available at Project Genome and the-numbers.
I hope this helps.
