I am already supposed to be on painkillers.
June 8 2001 I was stopped at a red light on a countryside road somewhere between Oceanside? and San Diego on my way to a church camping retreat. There was a small truck in front of me and we both had been sitting at the red light for a few minutes, when a Ford Tarus came and ran into the back of my Honda Civic at 80mph. He was looking down playing with his radio so he never even touched the brakes.
I cracked my neck at the base of my skull and I broke my back in two different places (between the shoulder blades and at the waistline). I hyperextended a majority of the muscles from my neck to my waistline causing most of them to rip (neck muscles, shoulder blade muscles, triceps and obliques were the worst ones).
The Taurus hit me at 80mph (hit #1) which threw my car into the truck in front of me (hit #2) and because of the force of hit #1 I bounced off the truck after hit #2 and hit the Taurus behind me (hit #3) but the Taurus was still moving forward which allowed me to get sandwiched between the truck in front of me and the Taurus behind me (hits #4 and #5).
That was the reason for my first leave of absense from HSX 2001?-2003? It also ruined my (part time but budding) career as a stuntman in Hollywood. Eventually I returned to Hollywood as a fulltime extra (only job in Hollywood I could do in my condition) which is the reason for my second leave of absence from HSX 2004?-2007? (16 hour days...12 hour days after a cameraman died while we were shooting Pleasentville... plus drive time OC to LA then LA to OC left me no free time for HSX...:(
