That is quite some story. Thanks for sharing. I only have a short comment for now, as I am kind of on the go, but sweet Jesus..
My accident had only small ramifications. It was a day or two after my maternal grandmother passed away, so I had to come to my hometown and the big, big funeral, looking like hell, and with naturally some relatives wondering if I was dealing with rough company, in the big(ger) city.. Before I went home, people at my most local bar laughed heartily, and told me I looked like Rocky Balboa after a good few rounds with Russian in Rocky IV.. I had a front tooth knocked a little loose, and I can still feel that, at times, 10 months later.
Your story is extreme. Sounds like you are almost lucky to be alive and yet, it sounds like you must have been in a world of pain, when you regained consciousness (if you ever lost it). I had no idea.. You are approaching the 10 year anniversary of this horrible accident, I notice, btw. What legal consequences were their for the driver who caused all this?
It's been a long while since the one time I saw Pleasantville, btw, but I remember thinking it was very good. Perhaps I should see it again some time soon, but I don't own a copy of it yet.
Now finally however we can be online all the time, throgh smart phones, and trade. My port was mostly unattended, except for shorter periods of (sometimes a little intense) interest/playing, the first 7,5 years (I believe I joined in January of 2001?) It was only when I finally opened up for having a computer in my home, that it took off. November 2008. I picked it up at around 200M and have made a billion since + it's almost getting more and more fun.
Again, thanks for sharing, and please do tell, if you may, what happened with the driver of that car that crashed into you..
(Ok, I see this became quite long after all, but I type a bit fast, though :)
