Who said a religious belief had to include a God or Gods?
What you've culturally indoctrinated to call a religious belief is not what a religious belief actually is. Its actually a very narrow subset of the true range of religious belief. For example, how is it that you define those actions as "the right thing to do"? What is it about them that makes them "the right thing to do"?
I'm not trying to offend anyone, despite knowing that its impossible to discuss religion without doing so. I'm actually making an effort to not offend by taking a step back and widening the scope of discussion.
And just to throw everyone a curve ball, one can argue that athiests are the religious subset of agnostics.
