But an interesting point was raised. Suppose a Muslim from Saudi Arabia emigrates to the US with his 4 wives....do they all get Federal benefits since they were legally married in the Kingdom?
That will be the next barrier.
But it was fun hearing them say that the government does not belong in the marriage business, even though EVERY religious marriage ceremony ends with "By the power vested in me by (name the jurisdiction due to a marriage license) .....)
