Another week of below normal temps on its way. Daylight begins shorten in 2 weeks. I think we've had 12 days above normal since last October. I don't have faith that the 24 hours of sunlight up north for the short time is going to be enough to prevent a wicked winter. I know everyone freaking out about climate change. I'm concerned about it too. Even using the corrected algorithm, I'm coming up with movements in the other direction.
1. Strong volcanic activity for the past 5 years with a few decent if not major eruptions. The one in Iceland was important as was the more recent eruption in alaska as they provided awesome amounts of ice and water vapor into the notrhern latitudes.
2. Solar Activity remians low at Solar Maximum. As we slide into solar minimum, with easily predicted outputs, we better hope for a rebound in 2025 and Solar Cycle 25, and it's already 18 months late.
3. The meteor impact or asteroid impact in Russia was on the blue side of the spectrum. It was a cold event and also lefts a 1500 mile long vapor trail up to 2 miles thick.
I know it's regional cooling. Paradise is often just like that...
