I enjoyed it too. I was watching mainly because of the news reports on the AV Club about the stop/start nature of the production, and was
kinda expecting a trainwreck (and lots of nudity...that was a running joke in the AV Club newsreports, since one of the items was about the unusual casting call for people comfortable with nudity and being put in sexual positions), but it was excellent. Intriguing, moody, eerie, thought-provoking, with acting performances that really worked.
I read a comment yesterday that questioned whether Ed Harris' character would hew closer to the Yul Brynner character from the original, after whom he is at least sartorially patterned. And that lead to further ruminations about how that could be, considering what we saw. Lots of things to unpack from just one episode. I hope it delivers!
