There is a clear Republican tint to country music - just look at the outcry after the Dixie Chicks incident.
And it is Republicans who oppose gun control.
Now, whether that means we shouldn't be sympathetic to any Republicans who die from a mass shooting which could potentially have been prevented with gun control? That's up to individals to decide.
In the end, she was fired for that comment. Now if only others spouting insensitive partisan comments could be fired next...
