BONDS does this from time to time....I only do it iff the short is ahead by over 100K. You frree up double that amount in cash.
I would hope that I have made at least 10pct on the security before reshorting. You free up cash to reinvest, Dont' cry about commission lost, if it is only 2Pct.
For a portfolio that is cash poor and wants to make other investments, it is a strategy to consider.

No, you pay commission on the stock's current price and how many shares you are trading. Not for profits gained. Feb 27, 14:44
