According to IMDB the case above happened. From what my understanding is, the Movie Mogul figures go on original earnings as per the first run on circuit. There are certain questions that actually pertain purely to the re-release figure of a movie, eg. Lion King. I'd think actual figures would be more sufficient though imo.
