That legalistic argument doesn't address the reality that a release that officially specifies in advance that it will be shown for only a
few days is simply not the same as a release without any self-imposed short limit on its own duration.
I propose that HSX formally recognize that a release (regardless of whether it's going to more or fewer than 650 screens) with a prior self-imposed limit on duration has a fundamental difference from releases that carry no such prior self-imposed duration limit.
It simply does not make sense that HSX pretends that a two-day-only release might magically acquire additional box-office revenue in the, say, 77 days following its declared-in-advance final screening.
I'm not proposing _in_consistency! I'm proposing that we stop pretending that a 1-, 2-, or 3-day release is the same as a release of indefinite length. I'm arguing for real _con_sistency!
