Couple of IPO suggestions

1) Even for the most popular movies (ie Marvel ones) 70m shares for IPO is stretching things a bit. Active user nos (even with some people having multiple accounts, some of which - esp newer ones - don't have the capacity to buy (much) into them) need to be considered for the same.

2) Just like an IPO's price starts rising pre-IPO if higher than IPO qty shares have been bought, equivalence/fairness would only come about if IPO shares which are shorted beyond IPO qty (eg there are many IPOs with 20m shares on offer & have 22-25m shorts pre-IPO) start going down in price immediately & not wait for IPO midnight to be crossed. This would also remove the long standing issue of an IPO having (say) 1m longs & 25m shorts but post midnight someone using multiple accounts to put 300K/450K long first out the gate & the share/movie moving up despite everyone else shorting it (I know you increased weights the last time I pointed this out ~1.5-2 years back but that just means more accounts need to be used to game the system/other players).
If it works one way (up), it ought to in the other direction (down) as well.
Just to elucidate using above eg - if the IPO had 20m shares, when shorts cross 20m pre-IPO the price starts going down immediately. (this won't stop someone from gaming the system at midnight but if he does it at say $14.25 instead of $15 IPO price at least all those who put their money & slept off or whatever will still not lose money immediately inspite of being on the right side of the call in terms of numbers).

* For anyone saying IPOs don't go down in price pre-IPO they don't go up either. This is the only way to have a balanced system akin to GMPs (grey market premiums pre-IPOs which work both ways & you see the effect with listing price at the immediate time of IPOs going live).
