Iceland's favorite alterna-rocker of the '90s, Bjork is making her feature film debut in Dancer in the Dark. Bjork plays a Czech woman who moves to the U.S. and begins working in a factory to support her and her small son. Her troubles deepen when she discovers that both her and her son are going blind. In an effort to escape her problems, she daydreams that her life is a Hollywood musical.
This is a musical comedy that director Lars Von Trier talked Bjork into appearing in when she initially was only going to work on the soundtrack.
