The origins of the Walt Disney studios can be traced back to 1923, when the brothers Disney started to produce animated shorts. Five years later, Mickey Mouse made his big screen debut in Steamboat Willie. Disney then expanded the operations to include theme parks, television, theater, retail, and a film empire. Today, Disney is the biggest studio having acquired Pixar, Marvel, LucasFilm, and Fox.
Disney Studio Fund will invest in upcoming films released under Walt Disney Pictures as well as 20th Century Fox and Fox Searchlight.
Studio Funds delist and relist annually in September.
