Eddie Murphy returns to the role (multiple roles to be exact) that launched his comeback in the 1996 hit The Nutty Professor. Imagine Entertainment hired the screenwriting brothers Chris and Paul Weitz of American Pie to get the project on track with Peter Segal at the helm.
Singer Janet Jackson costars as the love interest in this sequel that finds Professor Sherman Klump trying to get rid of his alter ego, Buddy Love, once and for all. High jinks ensue in the Klump family when Sherman tries to hide his new invention, a youth serum, from Buddy.
