Identical brothers Mark and Michael Polish have written three screenplays together, all of which are named after Northwest American towns. The first in the trilogy was Twin Falls Idaho, which Michael directed and starred with his brother. The film generated positive buzz at the 1999 Sundance Film Festival and put the talented brothers on the cinema map. The tender and unusual romantic story of Twin Falls Idaho is about siamese twins who live in a hotel in the city after traveling with the circus for much of their young life. The brothers must deal with the search for their estranged mother, a beautiful girl who enters their lives and the reality that one of them is very ill.
Born in 1972, the brothers are also working on the second and third components of the trilogy with Jackpot and Northfork.
