A film in its fifth week of release led the Halloween weekend box office as new offerings were dead on arrival. The Martian [MARTN.BW] landed another $11.4 million in first to bring its total to $182.8 million.
Goosebumps [GBUMP] remained in second place with $10.2 million. The family film has booked $57.1 million.
Bridge of Spies [CLDWR] held the third spot with $8.1 million. The political thriller has banked $45.2 million.
Leading the new releases, Burnt [ADAMJ] opened fifth overall at $5.0 million. The Bradley Cooper starrer attracted an audience that was 66% female.
The Last Witch Hunter [TLWH] dropped 56% in its second weekend to $4.7 million, while Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension [PNAC5] tumbled 57% to $3.5 million.
Our Brand is Crisis [OBCRS] debuted eighth at $3.4 million, the lowest opener in Sandra Bullock's career.
Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse [SVSZ] charted at twelfth with just $1.8 million in its debut.
Truth [TRUTD] managed just $0.9 million in its wide expansion to 1120 theaters.
