Although this weekend's new releases all came in under expectations, Kingsman: The Golden Circle [KTSS2] still secured first place with an estimated $39.0 million, slightly more than the $36.2 million opening of the first film. The sequel skewed older men with 58% males and 74% over the age of 25.
After two weeks at the top, It [IT1] slipped to second with $30.0 million to bring its total to $266.3 milion.
The LEGO Ninjago Movie [NJAGO] debuted in third place with $21.2 million, well below the other LEGO animated films.
American Assassin [AMASN] dropped 58% in its second weekend to $6.3 million and fourth overall. The actioner has earned $26.2 million.
Mother! [MOTER] finished sixth with $3.3 million, down 57% from its debut. The psychological thriller sits at $13.4 million.
Friend Request [FRQUS] opened at the seventh spot with just $2.4 million from 2573 theaters. The horror ppealed to an audience that was 55% females.
Stronger [STRON] charted at ninth with $1.8 million from 574 theaters.
Brad's Status [BRADS] climbed to twelfth in its second weekend with $1.0 million.
