Drawing on positive reviews and excellent word-of-mouth, The Woman King [WMKNG] conquered the weekend box office with an estimated $19.0 million. The historical epic brought out an audience that was 60% female and 59% African-American.
Last week’s top film Barbarian [BARBN] declined just 40% in its second weekend to $6.3 million. The horror film has checked in $20.9 million.
Pearl [XTW2] placed third with $3.12 million, short of the $4.2 million debut from X. The sequel audience was 53% males.
