The previous high was 2019’s John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum at $56.8 million. The sequel brought out a crowd that was 69% males and 70% over the age of 25.
Last weekend’s top film Shazam! Fury of the Gods [SHAZ2] dropped 68% in its second weekend to $9.7 million. The superhero sequel stands at $46.3 million.
Scream VI [SCRM6] was third at $8.4 million, bringing its total to $89.89 million after 3 weekends.
Creed III [CREE3] punched another $8.37 million in its fourth weekend to advance its total to $140.89 million.
65 [65] collected another $3.25 million to bring its third weekend total to $27.83 million.
Champions [CHMPN] scored another $1.54 million for a sum of $13.56 million after 3 weekends.
Opening in 530 theaters, A Good Person [AGPRS] earned $834K.
The Lost King [LSKNG] grossed just $575K in its debut in 753 theaters.
