DreamWorks Animation's 3D animated supervillain took over the weekend box office as Megamind [MEGAM] scored an estimated $47.7 million opening. The debut was better than their last film How To Train Your Dragon's $43.7 million, but not as good as Universal's 3D animated supervillain film Despicable Me's $56.4 million. As with most family-friendly films, Megamind should enjoy a long run this holiday season.
Due Date [DUDAT] arrived in second at $33.5 million. The road trip comedy starring...
Hollywood studios must think this will be one big movie-going weekend as the new trailers keep coming. Sony Screen Gems has unloaded a redband trailer for the romantic comedy Friends with Benefits [FWBFT]. Justin Timberlake [JTIMB] and Mila Kunis [MKUNI] play Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman in the R-rated version of No Strings Attached [NSATA], or something like that. Poor Semisonic, their song 'Closing Times' gets misidentified as Third Eye Blind, though at least they get the...
The trailer bonanza continues as Sony has unveiled the first look at the romantic comedy Jumping the Broom [JUMPB]. Paula Patton [PPATT] and Laz Alonso [LALON] meet cute as she literally runs him over with her car and fall in love. When their families are brought together over a weekend, will their different economic background come between them? Maybe I'm reading too much into it, but why are light-skinned African-Americans always protrayed as the upper class, while darker-skinned...
Sony has released a teaser trailer for the comedy it rescue from limbo status at MGM Zookeeper [ZOOKP] on Apple. A clear rip-off of Night at the Museum right down to using the same monkey, the comedy stars Kevin James [KJAME] as a Zookeeper who discovers the zoo animals talk, and promptly completes a series of pratfalls as only a fat man can.

Owen Wilson [OWILS] and Vince Vaughn Jason Sudeikis [JSUDE] star as best friends who begin to have wondering eyes after years of marriage. The Wedding Crashers...
Columbia has revealed the first trailer for the next comedy starring Adam Sandler [ASAND]. Just Go With It [JGWIT] finds Sandler playing a plastic surgeon who scores with women by pretending to be married. Complications arise when he falls in love with a schoolteacher, played by swimsuit model Brooklyn Decker. He further the charade by enlists his assistant, played by Jennifer Aniston [JANIS], to pretend to be his divorcing ex-wife and her kids to be their children. Hilarity of the...
Paramount has released the first trailer for the romantic comedy No Strings Attached [NSATA] Natalie Portman [MPORT] and Ashton Kutcher [AKUTC] star as two busy professionals who decides to pursue a purely sexual relationship. They believe an emotional relationship would just complicate their friendship. In the evitable Hollywood ending, the two will end up falling in love and getting the best of both worlds.
Opening on January 21st, the film previously share the same ...
The holiday movie season is set for blast off with three star-driven films. DreamWorks Animation leads the pack with the 3D animated Megamind [MEGAM]. Will Ferrell [WFERR] voices the villainous title character as he battles the heroic Metro Man voiced by Brad Pitt [BPITT]. Marketing has been ubiquitous on the PG-13 rated film which looks to hit all four quadrants of moviegoers. Opening in 3944 theaters, Megamind could take home a mega $56 million.
Robert Downey Jr. [RDOWN] teams up with...
Fox has unveiled the first trailer for the third installment in the Big Momma's House series, Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son [BMOM3]. Martin Lawrence [MLAWR] is joined by Brandon T Jackson [BTJAC] in putting on the fatsuit for some undercover work. Words failed me in describing this trailer, so it's best if you experience the agony for yourself.
Warner Bros. has unleased the full, theatrical trailer for the fantasy adventure Sucker Punch [SUCKP] on Apple. The film stars Emily Browning [EBROW] as a young girl who is sent away and locked up in a sanitarium. In order to escape from her dark reality, she enters an imaginary world where she and her female companions must fight fantastic creatures in skimpy outifts and retrieve five items: a map, fire, a knife, a key and an unamed "fifth element" that would set thems free. Maybe...
