This is not a new phenomenon.....and quite logical Mr. Spock.
Once the MovieStock goes to Production stage and post-production Wrap, there is a tendancy for most wide release MovieStocks to rise, like they were full of yeast.
Then reality hits. It may have been too much hype. Some people feel they rode the elevator up and want to cash out. The price falls. Generally a month or so before release.
Then there is a bounce until consensus pushes it up or down.
If you are just buying it low and forgetting about it, it will always show a profit, but you may lose from the peak, and lose out on the changes.
Things like MTC, RS, and other predictors; reviews; response to screening, etc.
There is information out there. If you choose to ignore it, then shame on you.
