If you're strictly daytrading (which I don't suggest for small ports) I would stick with
buying MORE of the stock you feel will go up the most... remember - you'll make just as much on a stock that is priced at $100 if it goes up 3 points, as you will a stock that is priced at $30 and goes up 3 points... the difference is the amount of $$ you tie up, and how much you can afford.
With a small port you have to think only "short term" when buying and selling stocks.. so if you are daytrading.. it's VERY tricky and can cost you mucho if you don't have the time to BBsit the stocks... so be careful.
Try playing openers (if you don't already) since you have 3 movies opening this weekend...look to see which one is under where you think it may adjust to, or is HIGHER priced than what it may adjust to, and either short them or long them... It's hard to make more money and build your port faster than by playing openers... daytrading is perhaps the only exception... but with a very small port, you are really rolling the dice when you daytrade...
I'd wait until you have some reserves in cash that you can afford to lose rather than daytrading now... but that's just MY opinion...
