Yes... many times you can log in on Saturday...get the weekend #'s... and change positions if you need to before the openers halt!
Sometimes there may be a big swing in the price of the stock based on how well, or how poor the movie does based on the box office of Friday's numbers... so with the halt happening on Saturday (like it used to when I started playing) it's nice to be able to change your position on the stock if you held it wrong... takes a lot more of the guess work out of playing openers.
Yes, you'll have to pay commissions in/out to change the way you hold a stock, but sometimes the potential profit is way worth it!
With CBALN currently priced around $120, the movie would have to earn at least $44.4M for the estimated weekend box office in order to break even on the stock price.
Only YOU can decide how to play an opener...yes, you can read reviews, get the buzz, talk to friends, etc., and then decide how you want to play them... I've been doing this for 10+ years, and I still only get about 55% of my guesses right, so it's not always as simple as it seems.

The adjust happens around mid-morning Sunday - as soon as the ERC estimates come in. The joke was always that Jul 28, 12:39
