Why invest in a fund that earned exactly 3 points in a year when you could invest in other funds that have better earning potential? I own them all, and I can afford a slow mover. But if you cannot, why not go with a proven winner, like EURO or, ahem, BONDS? Make some H$ and go back to TRUE when it is worth the investment.
I know that funds that are long in the tooth get investments and just do not get dumped. And this is not meant as a criticism of the fund manager, who may not be getting the best breaks. I am simply questioning the investment strategy of those players who invest in some, but not all, of the funds, who are just not selective enough.
