I seldom use that trade box beside the stock line as it is not expedient but it does work when using MAX. I know what you mean about it

hanging because I have had that happen in the trade box on stock pages.  Now that HSX has improved the trade box function (by Portfolio on toolbar) that is probably the best place to make any trades.  Something much, much better is Port Monkey, a script for GreaseMonkey written by Ed.   Try it, you'll like it.
