simple math....
you place an order for a 100,000 of a $0.01 stock and get charged a $2,000 commission
the order causes chuckage and you actually buy at $0.03 a share.
you wait until the stock moves to $0.12 a share and sell to make a profit
the sell order causes chuckage and you actually sell at $0.09 a share with another $2,000 commission
$0.09 minus $0.03 = $0.06 profit per share
$0.06 profit times 100,000 shares = $6,000 profit
$6,000 profit - $2,000 commission (to buy) - $2,000 commission (to sell) = $2,000 overall profit

I buy 100,000 shares of a $5 stock ($5,000 commission) and it moves up $1 = $100,000 profit
$100,000 minus $5,000 commission (to buy) and $6,000 commission (to sell) = $89,000 overall profit
