You don't need to hold 100,000 of a stock, yes it makes big paydays, but also big losses. Hold more different stocks and you don't have to
pay as close attention to news.
I prefer to have the slow but steady gains. I may not make 10 mil in a day, but I won't lose 10 mil either.
If you only buy or sell with the news then you better pay attention to when those stocks turn. I react to the news when I have a chance, but I also make sure the stock is a longer term investment, or you better get rid of it before the day is out.
Some stocks go down but if I know it's going to rise in the long term I usually ride it out. Saves on commission for those big priced stock and I don't have to pay attention to when it turns back to the upswing.
This is not the way to make money fast but it is steady (most of the time).
And add in those bonds to give you guarenteed income when everything else goes bad. (just be sure to check them when they adjust)
