sell off on Saturday if it appears it as tock won't make the adjust price...or you can hold on to it if it does really well opening day.
When I started playing back in 1998, HSX also halted stocks on Saturday, and back then, you couldn't short a stocks (plus only buy 10K shares!), so if a movie didn't do well, you HAD to sell it off, otherwise you lost money if you held it.
Today, however...you can also SHORT a stock on Saturday after the number estimates come out if it appears that a movie did poorly on opening day.
Remember, however, that playing openers (holding them or shorting them) is one of the fastest ways you will build your port, so to sell off an opener prior to numbers coming out tomorrow, you might miss additional profits if the movie does well, and adjusts up. Although if the numbers tomorrow are not good, at that time you can certainly short the stock and pick up some additional profits then too.
Playing and holding (or shorting) openers will be one of the fastest ways to build your port... don't overlook this option and bail out of a stock before the numbers come out...you may miss additional profits if it adjusts up 10-15 points... you just never know. Low risk = low gains.
At least, that's my opinion on playing openers. Sitting on the sidelines and not playing openers for me, is no fun at all... plus after 15+ years, it's still one of the most FUN aspects of HSX.. I still am only 55-60% right in guessing if a movie will adjust up or down!
