A question for teachers that have incorporated HSX into their students' coursework...
Though I figure it's unlikely any use the boards so they won't see this, I thought I'd at least ask. I'm graduating from USF in December and will be teaching at the at the grade or intermediate school level after that (first as part of my graduate school internship and then at a permanent position). I have seen leagues here over the years that are clearly set up for classes at various colleges and schools and I was wondering if anybody had any advice on actually implementing a program that uses HSX as a toll.
I figure I will use it as a method for students to earn extra credit at first but maybe eventually incorporate it into part of the actual math or/and social studies areas. Any tricks that a fellow teacher (or student that has had HSX used as a teaching device) has picked up would be greatly appreciated.
I see HSX as a potentially strong and innovative way to approach certain learning and have long thought that it would be great to be one of the folks around here that does those school leagues that you see pop up every once in a while. Thanks!
