There are two things going on with transactions at midnight. The first is that HSX has players from all around the world, so for some it is normal to be playing at midnight Pacific Time.
The other is "Reset Trading". There are players who will deliberately wait until just after midnight when Reset takes place to make their trades. They do so hoping that when others see the stock moving they will follow suit and trade the same way. It is considered a controversial tactic by many players here.
