I'm new, too...
and I recommend you join RazorHawk's HSX School League. Under the "Community" tab, click Leagues. Just do a search for "school" and you should find it.
Leagues are just groups that have their own message board so you have a "safe haven" to ask your newb questions. The Player's Forum is fine, too, but RazorHawk is one of the members that has lots of knowledge and doesn't mind sharing it with EVERYONE. (You'll notice he has a lot of posts and a website dedicated to HSX.)
That's what's helped me the most... Hope that helped.
