Short sale valuation calculation
I shorted a stock at $4.00 and sold it when it was at $3.23. According to the formula in the glossary, the per share sale valuation should be:
Purchase price + (Purchase price - current price) - Commission [$0.02 if share < $2.00 or 1% if share >= $2.00]
Based on this calculation, my proceeds for covering the stock should be $4.7377 per share, but when I sell the shares, I received $4.7175 per share.
What am I missing?
